The Simple Life

Simple: 1. easy to understand, deal with, use, etc.
            2. not complicated, not elaborate, and unassuming.

Healthy food does not have to be boring!!
In the past few years I have discovered my passion for fitness and for healthy cooking. Only recently did I begin to toy with the idea of creating a blog. Originally I was totally against the idea simply because there are countless other healthy living, cooking, and fitness blogs out there. But the more I thought about the idea the more I wanted to create a blog, even if only a handful of people saw it and cared. I knew I had to try though, and thus The Simple Life was born.

Following nature trails is a great way to workout.
As an added bonus you get to enjoy the beauty of
our planet while you burn calories!!
I chose the name The Simple Life because in my mind healthy living and fitness should not have to be a huge undertaking. I truly believe that a few small changes can make a world of difference. However, at the same time I don't believe you should completely deprive yourself of your favorite unhealthy foods, that will only lead to a binge in the future leaving you feeling worse than when you started. Moderation is key. You have to allow yourself to have some of your favorite unhealthy foods because life is short and you should enjoy it, but moderation and portion control should be exercised.

We even have desserts on the healthy side-chocolate
included!!
I am no means an expert, nor do I claim to be, but I have a passion for healthy living and cooking that I want to share with other people. I have transformed my own life and I hope to inspire people to change their unhealthy habits as well. I want to show people that healthy eating doesn't have to be some huge complicated process. A few ingredients can go a long way. I also want people to understand workouts shouldn't be something to dread. There are so many fun ways to get a workout that you don't have to be stuck in a gym for.
Water sports are a great way to burn lots of
calories, gain muscle, and have a blast
doing it!!

When I looked up the definition of simple in the dictionary I was sold on the name The Simple Life for my blog. It has taken a lot of work to create the blog, and I work on it daily (as much time as I can muster between a boat load of college classes) to continue to improve it. I hope through it all I can convince you that living a healthy lifestyle is by no means boring and it will improve your overall quality of life.

If you decide to saddle up and join me on this crazy journey, and I hope you do, I would just like to say welcome to The Simple Life!!
