Life and Wedding planning: Thinking Out Loud #111

Happy Thursday! Life has been chaotic in the past few months and I have been terrible about keeping up with the blog. Between work, wedding planing, and a lupus flare life has been busy, exhausting, and exciting all at the same time. Anyway before I really start babbling, let's jump into this weeks thinking out loud

1. We're just a little over fourth months away from getting married🎉Going from engaged to married in under a year certainly makes life busy, but for the most part we've been enjoying the planning process. It's going to be a small wedding, which we both preferred anyway and there will be so much good food and fun to go around. Next month we're traveling back to Michigan where my family is throwing us a wedding shower. I'm super excited to see my family again and introduce Brent to the rest of the family. Plus we'll get to spend some time with my crazy pup Cora🐶

2. Work has been busy as ever, but I've gotten to work on some really fun and inspiring stories. A few weeks back my photographer/best friend/bridesman and I got to look inside a fully restored C-54 plane from World War II. The museum spent over 16,000 hours restoring the plane (so.much.work) and the public has never been let inside. My photographer and I were shooting my standup and he made me start in front of the planes lavatory before going into the cockpit. He says the start by the bathroom was because I'm full of sh** 🤣

3. In the midst of this very busy season life decided to throw me a massive curve ball and my lupus started flaring. It had been flaring for quite some time, but it very quickly escalated this past week. I was forced to take all last week off of work and last Tuesday my fiancé drove me to the ER at 5 a.m. because the pain was unbearable. The ER pumped me full of drugs and sent me home. Most of Tuesday and much of Wednesday is a blur from pain medications. The frigid cold isn't helping matters either, but the biggest things has been my inability to sleep. I've been averaging 1-2 hours of sleep a night for a few weeks and I am beyond exhausted, yet I can't sleep. Lupus is a terrible disease and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

4. My fiancé has been absolutely incredible these past few weeks. He's always incredible, but I don't know how I would have made it this past week without him. He's been making lunches for work, driving me to doctor appointments, waking up in the middle of the night to take me to the ER and never leaving my side, making dinner, helping clean my apartment, and doing absolutely everything he can to make my life easier. Brent you have been the biggest help, I am beyond blessed to have you, and I love you more than words could ever describe💜

5. Oh how I wish I could make every girl out there understand this. Your perfect person is out there and you will find them when you least expect it. Brent and I were friends for a year before it become anything more and I was genuinely happy being single. You don't need to be in a relationship to feel loved. Your friends and family all love you. It's not the same love I get that, but enjoy the time you have being single. It's a beautiful season of life. I learned how strong I am, I invested time in myself, discovered new hobbies, threw myself into growing at work, went out with friends, and just lived life. Yes things are different now that Brent and I are engaged, but that doesn't mean I lost who I was when I was single. I'm glad I didn't throw myself into a relationship I knew wouldn't work because I never would have seen how incredible Brent is. The best part about being in a relationship besides loving someone and being loved is investing in someone- growing with them, learning with them, and doing life with them. I promise this relationship is worth waiting for.

Have a great Thursday and a fantastic weekend🎉🎉🎉
