BeFit All Year Review and Giveaway!
Happy Thursday! Anyone else buried beneath far too much snow? It is incredibly snowy here, but not even the snow can put a damper on my excitement for this post! Y'all know I am a lover of all things health and fitness which is why I was thrilled to partner with BeFit and Fit Approach to test out a new workout program.
I had the opportunity to try the complete BeFit system for an entire month and want to know the best part? I didn't have to leave my house to do it! There's an intro video that explains how the program works- it's made up of 10 workouts that are each 10 minutes. The workouts are a combination of cardio and strength training that focus on building lean muscle. Want to know what's really awesome? The workouts are completely FREE! That's right, you don't have to buy multiple DVD'S or a gym membership to do them. All you need is a little bit of space and a set of free weights, which can easily be substituted for everyday household items. All the videos are available on BeFit's YouTube channel.
So you're all ready to workout, 10 minutes isn't so bad is it?, but you don't know which video to start with. Have no fear! BeFit has a FREE 30 day calendar that tells you which video to do on what day and it has rest days scattered throughout. Some days have two videos, but you can easily do one in the morning and one at night, or knock out both at one time.
The last part of the program that I got to test out was BeFit's new nutritional products- pre-workout, protein, and burn. Each of the products are gluten free, sugar free, and GMO free. I loved the protein powder. It did not have a chalky taste or an after taste and it was fun to bake with (the chocolate protein breakfast bake pictured above is delicious!). I'm not normally a pre-workout supplement kind of gal, but I did like their pre-workout blend, not to mention the fruit punch flavor is so fun! I'm not looking to lose weight so I didn't try the last component burn, I'm also strongly opposed to weight loss supplements because the safest way to lose weight is through diet and lifestyle changes. If you workout hard and eat nourishing foods the weight will come off, but it will take time.
Let's get to the fun part shall we? BeFit is giving one of you the chance to win a bundle of BeFit products! You'll get all three nutritional products- pre-workout, protein, and burn. There are several ways to enter so you can enter more than once! Each of the ways to enter is laid out below. The giveaway ends Sunday February 28 at 11:59PM, the winner will be contacted on Monday February 29 (leap day!). Good luck!

BeFit Chocolate Protein Breakfast Bake
Since I finally cleared to lift again I've been working really really really hard to get back my strength and continue getting stronger. For most of my lifts I am back to where I was or lifting heavier (whoop whoop!!). There's a few things I'm still working on, but recovery is a process (a very slow one).
It's important to fuel and refuel properly after working out. I eat breakfast after I workout so I like to have a breakfast that's a balance of carbs and protein, normally 2:1. Anyone who knows me, or follows me on instagram, knows I love baked oatmeal, but sometimes after a really hard lifting session that just doesn't cut it for me. I've been experimenting with different breakfast bakes and I finally made one that I really liked- plus it's chocolate for breakfast! It's rich in carbs and protein making it a great post-workout meal because it's going to keep you full without making you feel bloated.
BeFit Protein Breakfast Bake
- 1/2 cup gluten free oats
- 3 Tablespoons BeFit Whey Chocolate Protein (or protein powder of choice)
- heaping 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/3 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 Tablespoon honey/agave/maple syrup
- 1/2 small banana, mashed
- 1/2 Tablespoon chocolate chips (optional)
Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Spray a ramekin with nonstick cook spray or coconut oil.
Combine oats, protein powder, and baking powder in ramekin.
Once dry ingredients are combined add in almond milk, vanilla extract, honey, and the mashed banana and stir until combined.
Top batter with chocolate chips, if using.
Bake at 350F degrees for 23-27 minutes, or until the center is firm. I like to slightly under bake mine (around 23 minutes) because then the chocolate is extra gooey and delicious.
Remove from oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before topping with fruit and devouring.

Blueberry Peach Baked Oatmeal
Happy Monday! Can it please be spring? This weekend was a delightful taste of spring, yet it's already been taken away and there's snow in the forecast. I was hoping we were done with snow, but I think mother nature has different plans (sadly).
It really was a taste of spring this weekend and not only because the weather was gorgeous, but because peaches were on sale at the grocery store! I try to stick to seasonal produce because it's cheaper- I am not paying $3.99 for a carton of strawberries. When I saw peaches on sale I did a happy dance and loaded up. I may have already eaten 90% percent of them though...whoops. I did save a peach to make baked oatmeal and lemme tell you peaches are DELICIOUS in baked oats!
Blueberry Peach Baked Oatmeal
- 1/2 cup gluten free oats
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (more or less to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 Tablespoons liquid egg whites or 1 egg (yolk+white)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1 small peach, sliced
- 1/8 cup blueberries
Preheat oven to 350F degrees and spray a ramekin with nonstick cook spray or coconut oil.
In ramekin combine oats, baking powder, and cinnamon.
When dry ingredients are mixed add in liquid egg whites (or egg), vanilla extract, and almond milk. Stir until combined.
Place peach slices on top of batter, they may sink slightly but that's ok, and then top with blueberries.
Bake at 350F degrees for 30-35 minutes. Oatmeal is done when the center is firm and no liquid remains. My oats are done in about 35 minutes, but every oven is different.
Remove ramekin from oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes before eating.
